Rudder pedals – 9/20/15

Worked on building the rudder pedals today.   We ordered the upgraded LSX rudder pedal parts.

The reinforcement tubes were too long and needed to be ground.   That was a pain because we had already
riveted the plates on.

It was also difficult to drill the holes through the rudder pedal tubes because they were solid aluminum
where the plans said that they would be hollow aluminum.  That means that we need to find different rivets
that go all the way through the solid aluminum because the short rivets are meant for hollow tubes.

Update:  We have since ordered newer rudder pedal control blocks as the ones pictured here are defective – known to crack in flight which causes loss of rudder control.
