We had been short of SBL-44 rivets and ordered some more so now we could finish riveting the leading edge on the right wing. We also got the left wing drilled, deburred, and ready to rivet.
Adding clecoes to the right wing before riveting
Cut the tabs and screw to the wing rib inboard on the right wing
Right wing is all riveted
Now let’s switch to the left wing. We’ll strap on the leading edge and drill into the wing ribs and support angles.
Snapped some chalk lines where the support angles should be drilled.
Ethan set a ruler down in the trailing edge wing cuff and it got stuck beneath the spar and wanted to stay there. We had to turn the wing upside down and it took some time to get it out!
Super glue bandaid!
Update – we also worked 2 hours on 4/29/2016 and finished riveting the leading edge cuff for the left wing so both wings are ready for fabric covering.
