Here’s what the plane looked like after our August 22nd building session.
We replaced the tailwheel bearings that we had damaged previously.
We put the diagonal control tubes on the back side of the firewall – instead of the front
We installed the control sticks and throttle. The sticks are linked and now actuate the elevator (if it existed; right now they just move the elevator push-pull tube and reversing linkage) and aileron torque tube. The rudder pedals, throttle, and brakes aren’t hooked up yet, but that’s hopefully happening later this week.
here’s where the diagonal control tubes are supposed to be
Installing rudder controls
Pulling the root pylon over before attaching it to the pylon gusset plate.
We want it to be at a perfect 90 degrees, it was leaning to the right a bit.
Torquing the bolt once in place
