Inventoried Wing parts, tested Gas tank 9/7/15

We riveted some cable clips to the boom tube and did some testing of the aluminum gas tank.  We rinsed the inside of the tank with water and removed at least one aluminum shaving. Then we put some plastic npt plugs in it and did some rudimentary pressure testing.  We’re going to get the fuel tank painted for corrosion protection and do some final rinsing with fuel before installing.  This is the Australian aluminum fuel tank sold by Rob Loneragan.

We want to get the new LSX wing and Frise ailerons.  They seem to be a step forward in safety and handling.  We were trying to decide between:

  1. Sending the reusable wing parts to Jim Ratte and having him build the wings for us
  2. Having Jim send us the new parts so we could build the wing ourselves.

We decided on option 2, building the wings ourselves.

We inventoried our wing parts and figured out which parts were small enough to ship.  Here’s a picture of the spreadsheet:

I placed a Searey order for push/pull aileron upgrade kit, new LSX rudder pedals and a few other parts
